World of Warcraft's housing feature is now live, and Horde players are desperately trying to recreate their spires

Housing in World of Warcraft launches this week for all players who have early purchased the upcoming Midnight expansion. Although the feature is still in its early stages, players (including yours truly) have spent a lot of time creating elaborate houses with usable decorations. But Horde players in particular have to grapple with one major problem: their homes look ugly.
Okay, that's kind of interesting. If you play as an orc, or like the orc aesthetic of spikes, flames, messy metal plates, and hastily nailed planks, then the Horde look is great. The thing is, a lot of the tribe—meaning anyone who doesn't play as an orc—generally prefers a less…grunge aesthetic. Alliance players also only have one external housing option, but their homes are pretty standard, innocuous huts that most people will find tolerable at worst.
Unfortunately for anyone dissatisfied with what's on offer, until Midnight is fully launched, that's it. You can customize your appearance in various ways by changing roof colors and chimney styles, but it's all within your faction's default aesthetic. Blizzard has Night Elf and Blood Elf skins are promised to arrive at midnight launchwith plans to provide more options later. But now you're either stuck in the hut or the steeple hut.
Some players, like myself, just want to make the most of it with outdoor decor. This is my humble hut. You'd never know that inside is a cozy shamanic retreat, complete with a small magical library, a cozy kitchen, and a stone altar dedicated to honoring the elements.
But many players are getting creative in trying to subvert the worn-out exterior designs. You see, Blizzard's decoration tools are very, very precise, and can ignore collisions if you want them to. This has led to Horde players trying to mask the orcish nature of their huts with… well, all kinds of other stuff.
For example, this person turned their house into a beautiful cave:
This guy tried a more blood elf style:
This guy did something simple yet effective:
I think this is cool:
Unfortunately, one problem players run into when doing this is that yes There is a limit to how much decoration you can put outside, and many of the items people use to cover up Ork turrets take up a large portion of that limit. So if you want to cover your house with stone, you can't do much else to your yard. it seems like Everyone is asking for Blizzard arrive Raise the exterior trim coverone of their questions Tell us they are aware and working on it.
Actually, this isn't a big issue at the moment: we know this is actually an early access feature, and some functionality will be limited. Most importantly, it's fun to see the lengths players go to to get creative with the tools available to them. Imagine what they will be able to do once they don't have to waste all their outdoor decking space on a large wooden deck.
