Udo Kier dies at 81, Hideo Kojima pays tribute to Red Alert icon and OD actor

Legendary German actor Udo Kier passed away at the age of 81. Gere's partner Delbert McBride confirmed the news through variety shows.
Gere has appeared in hundreds of film and television productions over the decades, rising to fame in the 1970s with horror films such as “Mark of the Devil,” “Frankenstein's Flesh” and “Dracula.” His breakthrough role in Hollywood came in 1991's “My Own Private Idaho,” and he went on to appear in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “Johnny Mnemonic,” “Armageddon” and the “Madonna” music video.

Gere is best known for playing the iconic Command & Conquer villain Yuri in the live-action cutscenes of Red Alert 2 and its expansion pack Yuri's Revenge. He also provided unique voices for characters in the games Call of Duty: WWII and Martha is Dead.
