The Xbox version of “Silent Hill 2 Remastered” pops up on the ESRB website

We have good news for patient Silent Hill fans who have been waiting for their chance to play Silent Hill 2 Remastered Edition On Xbox consoles — a new rating list has been pop up on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

Of course, while the ESRB has put the horror game on its list, it previously only provided a rating for the game on PlayStation 5 and PC, giving it a 17+ rating due to its gore, gore, sexual themes, crude language, and violence. Now, the site has added similar ratings specifically for the “Xbox Series” platform.

This is unlikely to be a surprise to most – we already knew the horror game's remaster was a year-long PS5 console exclusive that expired last month – but it's still good news, given that Konami itself has been a bit hesitant about when we might see the port on Xbox Series consoles (and has been completely mum on the highly anticipated Born From a Wish DLC).

“Silent Hill 2 Remastered” has sold 2.5 million copies worldwidewhich pushed overall franchise sales to 10 million. IGN Silent Hill 2 Remastered Review Return 8/10. We say: “Silent Hill 2 is a great way to visit or revisit one of the most terrifying destinations in survival horror history.”

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto recently revealed Why Konami is releasing three new Silent Hill games after a full decade of silencesaid the publisher was keen to stress to old and new fans alike that they were “serious” about resurrecting the troubled horror series. Of all the projects revealed since the 2022 reveal – Silent Hill: Short MessageSilent Hill 2 Remastered Edition, silent hill f, Silent Hill: Town Fallsand media projects Silent Hill: Ascension and upcoming movies, return to silent hill — Most titles have been well-received by critics, fans, and new players alike, suggesting it's a gamble worth taking for the Japanese publisher.
