2025 is definitely a year for the poisonous Avengers. The long-awaited film reboot starring Peter Dinklage is finally released in September, with the poisonous Crusader game set to be released in 2025 in the second quarter. Ahoy Comics is in the midst of a 'toxic messy summer' With Toxie joining forces with heroes from the Ahoy universe.
IGN can specifically reveal that Ahoy will follow up Toxie with the team of the poisonous Crusader series, and like the game, its goal is to capitalize on the nostalgia of the classic animated series. Check out the ReTroware game variant cover for “Toxic Crusader” #1 below:

And check out the variation of artist Ar Sullivan covering the poisonous Crusader #1:

The Toxic Crusader is a five-stage miniseries written by franchisee (and Pulitzer Prize finalist) Matt Bors and illustrated by newcomer Tristan Wright. The series pairs Toxie with No-Zone, Junkyard, Major Disaster and a brand new character called Fungirl.
“After the chemical leak that caused the drugs, other mutants emerged – they united to start a war with alien conspiracy,” Bolls said in Ahoy's press release. “We are taking everything, from the original poisonous crusade cartoons, evil aliens and excessive ecological action, bringing readers a must-read mutant every month.”
“Everyone at Ahoy Comics is happy to publish a group of world-renowned characters who are as kind, violent and candid as we ourselves are disgusting,” said Ahoy comic editor Tom Peyer. “We are also excited to debut the work of talented artist Tristan Wright. Matt found some of Tristan's work online and shared that with me – we both thought, where did he live his whole life? It's solid, imaginative, fun work that we intend to extract as much as we can, like cold drink capitalists like us.”
The Toxic Crusader #1 will be released on September 10, 2025, after the release of the Toxic Avengers movie. To get you up, check out some exclusive new screenshots of the poisonous crusader game:
exist IGN's comment on the poisonous AvengersAmelia Emberwing writes, “Troma and Legendary's partnership on The Toxic Avenger's 2023 'not remake' delivers a mixed bag. Director Macon Blair and the rest of the creative team may have more money to play with than Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman's 1984 original, but it struggles to deliver on the schlocky goodness of Troma's stronger films. Still, what it lacks in So-Bad-it's stupid attitude makes up for its heart, mostly practical slaughterhouses.
