The next character of Invincible VS is revealed as Rex Splode

After an unexpected surprise was unveiled during last month’s Xbox showcase, Invincible VS (3V3 Fighting Game from Skybound and Quarter Up) is a new studio composed of multiple fighting game veterans Devs – no new information has been seen yet. Now, the drought ends in an explosive explosion as Rex Splode’s abrasive guardians officially join the playable lineup.

Rex Splode's Intro trailer shows off some of his main combinations and special movements that exploit his ability to make anything he touch explode with kinetic energy. He had seen throwing an explosive projectile, turning himself into an explosive ball for multiple hits, then pushing two explosive sticks into the opponent's body, and sending it with a “polite” message.

Rex Splode joins the Invincible and Roster, which currently includes Invincible himself, Atom Eve, Viltrumite Thula and Bulletproof. Omni-Man did appear in the reveal trailer shown on the Xbox Showcase, but at the time of writing, he hasn't confirmed that he is playable.

Skybound has announced both the game and a new studio quarter. The quarter UP was founded by Mike Willette – well-known as the voice of being a developer with game fans, and the announcer who rebooted the 2013 Killer Instinct – consisting of the Killer Instinct team and other Devs from Activision Blizzard, Riot Games and more.

Invincible VS will launch the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2026.
