The Ratchet & Clank franchise has been dormant since “Ratchet & Clank: Rift” was released in 2021, but that hasn't stopped some fans from seeking out a game that few remember. Ratchet and Clank: House of Clones Announced in the mid-2000s as a follow-up to the mobile game Ratchet and Clank: Going Mobile. Although Clone Home was canceled and never officially released, the game has finally been discovered and a copy has been shared online.
golden lightning YouTube channel (pass enjet) released a video detailing the years-long search for Ratchet & Clank: Clone Home. As the video below shows, several members of the gaming community took part in the search, but college student “Emily” and “Super Gamer Omega Clank” take the prize for finding a Sony Ericsson W880i with a working copy of Clone Home inside. Cracking the phone's encryption was the most difficult step, but their efforts paid off.
The game's title refers to a pair of digital clones of Ratchet and Clank who team up with their real-world counterparts to thwart the plans of the returning nemesis Vox from Going Mobile. Digital Ratchet and Clank exist in the video game within the game, while real versions of Ratchet and Clank are also transported into the game halfway through the story.
It is believed that Clone Alone was briefly online by mistake before being taken down. The saved copy is fully playable, but it's unclear why House of Clone wasn't released. Golden Bolt believes that this may be due to a possible legal dispute between Sony and Going Mobile developer Handheld Games. He also noted that Clone Home is likely to be developed by JavaGround rather than Handheld Games.
This isn't the only surprise in store for Ratchet & Clank fans in 2025. Earlier this year, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Senior Designer Grant Parker revealed that he would Mini-game hidden in the title. Although Rift Apart coming to PC in 2023there is currently no word on when or if another sequel will be released.
