The dystopian Google AI video generator generates fake rich bureau clips, it's hard to tell the difference

Google launches an advanced AI video generation tool that can create Fortnite Game clips that are almost indistinguishable from real things.

VEO 3 is launched this week and has already attracted the speakers of eyebrows, as its dystopia is able to create similarly lifelike video clips from simple text-based cues and include audio that sounds realistic.

Other generated AI programs, such as Openai's Sora, have been in a similar fashion for a while, but the VEO 3's capabilities including Lifelike Audio is indeed a remarkable, even if shocking, move forward.

VEO 3 users are still testing the tool's capabilities, but they started producing Fortnite gameplay within two days and posted fake streaming comments on the top. The quality is good enough that when scrolling on social media you'll think it's a legendary clip from YouTube or Twitch.

Technically, VEO 3 should not infringe anybody’s copyrighted material – it’s safe to assume that Fortnite Developer Epic Games won’t sign this material. But obviously, AI tools have access to millions of hours of Fortnite gameplay published online, and now can copy convincing replies on command.

WEO 3 has not been specifically informed of creating Fortnite gameplay when writing this prompt. Nevertheless, it learns the game the user refers to from the context.

The capabilities of VEO 3 raise a variety of questions, and pressing questions are much more than simple copyright issues. There is no doubt that the ability to create a lens will undoubtedly help hope to deceive others with false information and thus undermine trust in legitimate lenses.

One reply wrote, “I can’t tell if this is true.” “We cooked,” another read.

The third reply reads: “The only way is to do it is to have a lot of Fortnite content training for Veo 3.” “If there is copyright law, everything that is being trained now is being trained.”

IGN asked Epic to comment.

Microsoft has been interested in creating its own AI-generated video game footage, recently Revealing the early results of its muse showIt said it has been trained on countless hours of bleeding edges of Xbox shooters. Xbox owner Phil Spencer suggests that muse can be used in the future to help conceive game concepts, or even help game save in some way.

But the muse's revelation soon revealed More fake game footage created by classic shooting game Muse 2sparked further debate – and raised questions about whether the tool would remove jobs or replace the human creativity of existing employees.

Of course, Fortnite is no stranger to AI itself. Last week, the game added the ability to chat with Star Wars' Darth Vader Generative AI Replies Training Using Sounds of the late James Earl Jones. Jones' voice has been officially licensed (formerly created a conversation for Disney's own Obi-Wonby TV series) and has been approved by the late actor and his family, but the addition still prompts Quick condemnation and unfair labor practice accusation of agency alliance SAG-AFTRA.
