The Dark Tower: The “Complete” Graphic Novel Saga

Most of Stephen King's more than 65 novels are stand-alone works, although he also wrote a few series, of which “The Dark Tower” is the longest by a wide margin. This eight-novel, more than 4,000-page story took 30 years to publish. In 2007, Marvel began adapting “The Dark Tower” into comics. Although King himself did not write the comic, he served as creative director on the project.
But it's important to acknowledge that Marvel canceled the ambitious adaptation before reaching the right conclusion. Therefore, The Complete Graphic Novel Saga is both correct and incorrect. If you read all three omnibus books, you'll have read everything available, but you'll need to read King's novel to get the full story.
If you're unfamiliar with King's work, here's a quick breakdown: The series is an engaging blend of fantasy, science fiction, and horror elements. But at its most basic premise, The Dark Tower is a traditional hero's journey. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic mid-world and tells the story of Roland Detar as he searches for the eponymous tower and the powerful dark wizard, the Man in Black. Novels often span time periods and different worlds, but graphic novels are largely more linear, which gives them a more intimate reading experience.
A tome of 800 pages The Dark Tower: The Beginning Comprehensive Collection Might be especially noteworthy for long-time fans of the series. Essentially a prequel, this hardcover omnibus contains five graphic novels that chronicle Roland Detar's coming-of-age story in Gilead, leading up to his rise to become The Last Gunslinger. It covers and expands upon Roland's backstory as mentioned in flashbacks and dialogue throughout the series.
Two other buses –shooter and Picture of three people— named after the first two books in the series. While they cover the same major plot points as their novel counterparts, the comics also cover a lot of new ground that fans will be interested in, even if you've recently read the novels themselves. All three hardcover books contain beautiful artwork drawn by a team of illustrators.

The Dark Tower is one of the best fantasy series out there, there is nothing better than it. The series blends dark fantasy, horror, and Western fiction to create a completely original world filled with interesting characters and settings. It is filled with beautiful and mysterious passages that immerse you in King's fascinating world.
Scribner published the first book in the series, The Gunslinger, in 1982. It's a beautifully written novel at about 300 pages—a short novel by King's standards. The seventh main novel, The Dark Tower, concluded the series in 2004. In 2012, King returned to the fantasy world with “The Wind Through the Keyhole,” a short story that takes place between the fourth and fifth books.
If you don’t want to read the entire series, Amazon’s buy-two-get-one-free book deal includes five Dark Tower novels. You can also get a picture book version of Charlie the Tank Engine, a series of stories written by the character Beryl Evans.
