The Game Awards 2025 Nominees It has been officially announced, so naturally we have ideas. First and foremost, however, what a great year it has been for new releases. From Claire Obscure: Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to Donkey Kong Bananza and Split Fiction, 2025 seems to have something unusual for every type of player.
Some of the most notable games include Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hallow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, all of which were nominated for Game of the Year. In addition to receiving the coveted nomination, Expedition 33 also earned A record-breaking 12 nominations.
While these games may be getting their fair share of love and celebration, there are a few that we feel are seriously overlooked. So we've put together a list of our favorite games from 2025 that we think deserve a bigger spotlight at this year's Game Awards. While some of these games may have received multiple nominations, in each case we feel strongly that they should have been included in at least one other category.
