Tencent has been updated Motiram's Light Steam page a few days after Sony filed a lawsuit The upcoming game is a “slave clone” of the horizon.
The complaint, filed in a California court in late July, outlining many similarities and comparing various marketing screenshots of the two games and their descriptions.
As we explained at the time, like the horizon, Motiram's light took place in the apocalyptic world after the giant robot dinosaurs, who roamed large natural environments such as tropical forests, deserts and snow-capped mountains. Both games even feature red-haired heroines, wearing very similar outfits and styles, and similar devices to Aloy's “Focus” headsets.
Sony believes that this is not an accidental similarity. According to Sony's complaint, Tencent allegedly began developing Motiram's lights in 2023 and contacted Sony at a 2024 game developer conference to demand a licensing agreement to develop its own Horizon game. Sony rejected Tencent, but anyway, it seems that Tencent is still continuing to develop Motiram's lighting. Sony claims that once it realizes the game, it will informally approach Tencent to resolve copyright disputes, but when it does, Tencent once again tries to licensing horizons. Tencent is said to have been driven by promotions and playback testing of the game.

The description has also changed. It originally wrote: “In a world of huge machines, exploring a vast open world, building your operating base, advanced technology, train machinery and ride-capable bosses. Starting from the primitive era, new development paths have been forged. Violating the challenges of machinery and surviving with mechanisms.”
But now says, “It is now possible to use everything around you wisely to sustain life and face to face with a powerful boss, every step is full of danger and requires courage. Only by overcoming the challenges of survival can you lay a place for yourself in this unwelcome land.”
Interestingly, we can also see that the release window to be announced has been updated to “Quarter 4 2027”.
Whether this is enough to satisfy Sony's attorney remains to be seen, especially because of several incredible similarities between the two games. It initially sued copyright and trademark infringement, as well as false designations of origin, and demanded that costs and losses be sought for each individual job infringement by Horizon's copyright. It also requires Tencent to destroy all infringing materials.
