Switch 2's brave default fixer ring in the 3DS Nostalgia era with a great RPG version

this Switch 2 startup lineup Not exactly bursting at the seams. although Mario Karting World It's a banner game, and others from June 5 are mainly ports of existing games. Among them, Brave’s default is a fancy ball, as it’s a high-definition remake of a game that has been around for over a decade, rather than a modern game like Street Fighter 6 or Cyberpunk 2077 that can eventually run on Nintendo Hardware. But for my money, the Brave Default is also a classic ceremonial in history, both strange and strange nostalgia for the 3DS era, Switch 2Brave Default: Flying Fairy Tale HD Recovery seems to be a great way to play it.
For those unfamiliar, Brave Default is an improvisation of the classic Final Fantasy formula, making it apart from the name. Four lights, holy crystals, warriors of the whole cornflakes. It adopts a powerful class system that encourages players to find a combination that breaks the game, one of the first combinations with the ability to speed up encounters and auto-fighting, and is now the mainstay of classic RPG remakes – even turning it off altogether. The title mentions one of its combat mechanics, namely “defend” (defend and store additional courage points, also known as BP) or “brave” (spend extra BP, or even dabble in BP debt to take extra action). So for horizontal grinding, you can bravely burn low-level enemies every time and resist tougher enemies and bosses, you need to take a more thoughtful approach.
Then comes the semi-sequence, Brave Second: the end layer and the full sequel, Brave Second. Unlike the Final Fantasy series, the Brave Game takes place in a consistently normalized world, so the sequel is based on the story and continuity before them.
But, like many in the 3DS library, Brave defaults are no longer totally easy to play. You need to work 3DS hardware and gaming cartridges, and unlike Bravely Default 2, it has never been released on another platform like Steam. This makes it a major candidate for HD Remaster treatment, allowing fans to own it in a format that lasts into the future. After a brief practice, I firmly believe that the Brave Default will be the Switch 2 game I played the most outside Mario Kart at the launch.

First of all, the game looks great. The prefabricated painted backgrounds look incredible and vibrant on the big screen, which is even more impressive when you think they were originally on the 3DS. This visual style—your polygonal character runs against a painted background—is itself a return to an early 3D RPG like Final Fantasy 7, but looks especially good here. At the same time, the style of the character model itself is largely maintained. This proves the power of the artistic style of these characters – the Squat Chibi character presented in the clear style of Akihiko Yoshida – looks so elegant. I couldn't modify my work class to see how cute the models look when wearing a variety of outfits, but I'm looking forward to it.
As far as I know, the combat system is still not affected, which is good for me because it is fully balanced. I only played some early fields, but I know from experience that the combination of brave/default and work-level systems creates some fascinating battle puzzles, especially once the game starts challenging the challenge of keeping your system open. This is a game that definitely wants you to feel smart.
The latest elements are a pair of mini games, and even if they are temporary transfers at best, they seem well designed. Use both Switch 2 mouse functionschallenge you to use both in different ways at once. The first is a rhythm game that has a glowing bond between the two cursors, so matching the rhythm means lined up the tethers to intersect with the music prompt, or subscribed to the exact notes with the cursor itself. The second is the pilot's first-person perspective, so you have to manage the wheels that turn the boat while also tending to other tasks. Imagine the Iron Camp, but cute, its huge controller virtualized on the screen. None of the games are back in the main game, but you can use Jobs' costumes in the mini game to unlock them for some personalization.
I doubt I'll play a lot of mini games. They are a neat little showcase of the Switch 2 mouse features, but not attractive. The real award is the Brave default, one of my favorite modern (ISH) RPGs, received a beautiful restoration and released from the 3DS prison. If you've never played it before, or even have it, this seems like the way to experience it.
