Rune Factory: Guardians of the East gets the biggest discount yet on Switch and Switch 2

If you're looking for a new game to play on your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, one of this year's best console exclusives is on sale for its best price yet. Rune Factory: Guardian of the Eastis the latest entry in Marvelous' popular action RPG and farming simulation series, available now Switch version $39.88 and Switch 2 for $49.94. “Guardians of the East” is a launch game for Switch 2 and one of the few third-party games to have a real physical version; the complete 18GB file is located on the Switch 2 game card. Guardian of the East Earth Dancer Limited Edition The Switch version is also available on Amazon for $80 (originally $100).

Guardians of the East is available digitally for $60 on Switch and $70 on Switch 2, so you can save $20 by picking up the physical version. If you choose the Switch version and want to get the Switch 2 enhancements later, you can purchase a $10 upgrade pack from the eShop. Earth Dancer Limited Edition is only available on Switch, so Switch 2 owners will want to get the upgrade if they take advantage of Amazon's deal.

Marvelous’ latest farming sim, Story of Seasons, is also available on Amazon. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar Premium Edition Switch 2 is discounted to $69 (originally $80). This is the first appearance of the Grand Bazaar since its launch in August. Like Guardians of the East and all Marvelous games on Switch 2 (so far), the full game is on the cards.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Guardians of the East features higher resolution and frame rates. It's also one of the games that supports Joy-Con 2 mouse control, allowing you to play the game just like buying the PC version.

The Earth Dancer Limited Edition has sold out at most retailers ahead of launch. It's currently only in stock on Amazon and GameStop, with the latter charging full price.

It's worth noting that Amazon discounted this edition to $68 during Big Deal Days, so unlike the standard edition deal, the current discount isn't an all-time low.

Rune Factory: Guardians of the East has been well received by critics and fans alike. Currently it has a Yuan score 81 on review aggregator Metacritic (a sister site to GameSpot). Guardians of the East has an average user review average of 8.2/10, and the Steam version currently has a “very positive” status based on over 1,000 customer reviews.

The new game takes the combination of RPG and farming simulation to a new level. The game is set in Azuma, a fantasy world inspired by Japanese folklore, and puts players in the role of a magical martial artist known as the Earth Dancer. You embark on a journey to restore the land by building farms, repairing villages, and completing RPG-style quests in which you face off against bosses with magical swords imbued with elements.
