Diablo General Manager and Chariot Veteran Rod Fergusson left Blizzard.
Fergusson confirmed the news on his personal Twitter/X account:
After five years, the Diablo franchise has been pushed to four large launches, and it’s time to keep me away from Blizzard/Microsoft with a sword in my hand and see what’s next. These teams are ready for success, exciting distribution bureaus. Why I feel very proud… pic.twitter.com/fsh4gjmgvl

“After four big launches in five years, I'm pushing the Diablo series forward, it's time for me to leave Blizzard/Microsoft with a sword in my hand and see what's next,” Ferguson wrote. “These teams have built exciting records for success. I'm very proud of what we've built together and look forward to the next step in Diablo and for me.”
Blizzard also confirmed the news as today's IGN, but refused to provide further comments on the reasons why Fergusson left the company, which may run the Diablo series in the future.
