“Resident Evil 9” was officially revealed at the 2025 Summer Competition Festival

Here's the official: Resident Evil 9 is coming, and we just had the first real look at it during the 2025 Summer Competition Festival.
Resident Evil Requiem is a single-player survival horror game that will be played on February 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Host Geoff Keighley said on the SGF stage that Resident Evil Requiem marked a “bold turn to the team in tone and gameplay”. Looking forward to “high-risk movie action” above survival horror.

The trailer seems to confirm a destroyed raccoon city, named by city shots at the end of Resident Evil 3, possibly suggesting an open-world game design. A brief introduction to the ruins of the Raccoon City Police Department.
We might have a brand new playable character on hand in the form of FBI tech analyst Grace Ashcroft, who is investigating a series of strange deaths. She was ordered to return to the scene where her mother was murdered, and doing so would have to face her past.
Then we see grace being bound to Gurney and hear a mysterious figure say, “I know now that you are the…special person I've been looking for. Choose one.” Is he talking about grace? If grace yes Is she the only character for a playable character? Are there Resident Evil characters and playability built in the game like Leon?
Capcom's official website doesn't have any meaningful answers, but does point to “technical advancements” and “a story with more immersive characters and gameplay than ever before.”
