This week, SIFU developer Sloclap released Rematch, a new futuristic football champion, taking a new approach to studying football games outside the United States. However, fans who want to play Challengers from all platforms must wait, as Sloclap announced that it will be ready for a rematch release in time across seasons.
Sloclap shared the news on social media, but also assured players that adding cross-play in future updates remains a team priority. When cross-game features are ready, developers do not publish schedules on the schedule.
Cross-play between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox will be available on startup, but this is one of our top priorities for upcoming updates! ⚽🎮
We will share ETA as soon as possible, please continue to pay attention! #rematch– Re-production (@playrematch) June 16, 2025
The rematch takes a semi-class style by cutting the soccer team to five teammates on each side. Players can only control one team member, but other players can join their teams or fight them on the other side’s team.
Since the game will be set over the next 40 years, it provides some fundamental changes to how football plays. Fouls, cross country, penalty kicks, raffles and gunfights are a thing of the past and the ball never fails because the entire game takes place in the cage. The player's game POV is displayed through a third-person camera. In addition to the 5V5 showdown, there are also options for 3v3 and 4v4 battles.
Gamespot's hands-on preview To rematch, it makes the game feel like a fierce team sport. Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers will be able to try to rematch on the Xbox Series X|S on the first day of June 19. PlayStation 5 and PC gamers will be able to purchase games on the same day.
