public After eight years of service, starting in November this year, it will announce support for the aging PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The experienced Battle Royal previously said it converts its console version to support only PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X/S later this year. Now, we know when.
In a statement to the gamer community, the game’s development team said after so many years that the decision was “significant” but now it is “a necessary step” to better support the game’s PS5 and Xbox series X/S builds and make sure they are not turned away.
The game's development team: “This transformation is a necessary step to align the PUBG console with the current console.” Write today. “To provide our players with a more stable gaming environment on the console and ensure a smoother and more seamless experience in future updates, we decided to transition to the current console.
“Console players will then see improved visuals and more stable frame rates. In addition, we hope to reduce persistent crash issues with memory-related optimizations. As part of this transition, we will end support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”
PUBG will remain downloadable and playable on PS4 and Xbox One until November 13, 2025, and will no longer be accessed thereafter. However, if the player logs to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S in the future, the account details and purchased items will be retained.
After this time, the Xbox Series S supported specs will be available in 1080p/1440p at 60fps or 30fps, while the PlayStation 5 specs are 1440p and 60fps. Xbox Series X and PS5 Pro specifications will be 2160p and 60fps. Despite this, despite the improvements to the new console, it is clear that Sony and Microsoft's older machines are a bit nostalgic.
“It's big for us, passing this news to us for so many years enjoying PUBG's console player on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” the development team continued. “We still vividly remember the epic battles, the heart-warming moments and the friendship that united us. We're so grateful for every moment we've spent with us in the last eight years.
“It's not an easy decision to make. It's after long-term careful consideration, pursuing the continued growth and long-term future of the PUBG console.”
