Just in time for this weekend’s annual EVO Fighting Games Championship, PlayStation details more about its upcoming wireless PS5 and PC Fightstick – we now know that this is called Flexstrike – posted sometime in 2026, thanks to New PlayStation Blog Posts.
The PlayStation Flexstrike Fight Stick Controller was originally called “Project Defiant”, which was an unexpected surprise for PlayStation's June 2025 game status demo. This is Sony's first official combat stick, so it takes advantage of the PlayStation Link wireless connection, which gets several cool features on the PS5, including the ability to pair wireless PlayStation Pulse headphones or earbuds for audio that is lagging, without lagging. You can also connect two Flexstrike battle sticks to a PS5 for both local multiplayer games.
The elastic elastic will feature an eight-key layout and a joystick with a black and white color scheme that matches the appearance of the PS5 and other official peripherals. According to Sony, it will feature a “sturdy, ergonomic design that has a comfortable feel during intense battles. It's not clear how the elastic elastic changes are going on, but so far, Sony has confirmed that it will have three different mobile doors that can swap joystick, circle, circle, circle, or octagon for extra links, while both can be used and limited to the tool when not in use.

As for the rest of the input, use the eight main face buttons of the mechanical switch (map them to cross, circle, square, triangle, R1, R2, L1 and L2). The remaining standard inputs of the PS5 dual meaning controller are also present on the combat stick, including:
- PS button
- Share button
- PlayStation link button
- L3 button
- R3 button
- Touch pad
- Options Buttons
There is also a lever mode switch that changes the operation of the rocker and locks the button. You can wake up the PS5 from sleep mode using the PS button of FlexStrike. FlexStrike will also include a sling carrying case that we have glimpsed in the new PlayStation blog post.
Unfortunately, the new blog post doesn't reveal pricing, booking information or a specific release date for FlexStrike, but if you attend EVO 2025, you can see the Fight Stick Stick during the event, although you can't actually do it manually with the controller yet. More details will be revealed in the coming months, Sony said, so we hope we will know the price and final release date soon. Bookings are expected to open soon.
Flexible reveals are a striking reason, most notably, this is Playstation's first official fighter stick perimeter. The PS5 has a lot of great combat sticks to choose from – including PDP's Victrix Pro FS and its leverage siblings, Pro FS-12– But we're curious to know how Sony's specially made PS5 teenager model will overlay to third-party options.
On June 4, 2025, PlayStation Statation Dame has several other exciting fighting game announcements, including Marvel Tokon: Battle Soula 4V4 team battle game developed by Arc System Works and has a roster of Marvel characters, released on PS5 and PC in 2026. Digital Eclipse also announced Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollectionit has written many classic live martial arts titles (including arcades, home consoles and handheld versions), as well as behind-the-scenes content. Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection is available on PS5 and PS4 in late 2025.
