Magic: Party Have seen some big hits, but the next one in the New York skyline, which is by Marvel's Spider-Manprobably just one of the biggest.
The new set (which is standard legal, by the way) will officially debut on September 26, but if you can find a place to participate nearby, it can be played in the pre-release event.
Here is what you need to know, when to play and what to expect.
What is the pre-release event for MTG?
Pre-release events are a way players can usually make new sets a week before release.
They use cards from the upcoming collection (in this case, Spider-Man) to get you a bunch of cards in hopes of finding some synergy and even making new friends.
Nuts and bolts may vary depending on where you are playing (contact the local game store to see if they host an event), but the basics of magic are here:
- Open the pre-release box
- Spend some time building 40 card decks from cards in the box
- Playing against other players in 1V1 matches, each player has 20 lives
- Winning games can win you some bonus bags
What's in the pre-issue box?
Marvel's Spider-Man's pre-release box contains the following:
- 6 boosters
- 1 Rare or Mythical Rare Foil
- 1 cardboard deck box
- 1 spiral dice
although Coast Guide There is a handy page that provides some deck building strategies for pre-releases, and I have one extra suggestion: with sleeves.
Of course, the included deck box is handy, but it's best to carry some sleeves just in case you end up finding a potentially valuable card that you want to add to your favorites or sell later.
When is Magic: Spider-Man for the Party pre-release?
The pre-release of the Spider-Man suit will begin Friday, September 19th – a week before the suit is fully launched.
It runs throughout the week, so be sure to check until September 25th.
Can I buy other magic: Party Spider-Man products on Preelease?
Of course, I can't speak for every store, but only the WPN (Witcher Game Network) store can sell new magic products on Preelease weekends.
Everyone else, including stores like Amazon, needs to wait another week.
