Magic: The Gathering (MTG)the world's premier trading card game, remains as popular as ever. In addition to the cards themselves, long-time Magic players know that there are countless accessories and other goodies that can enhance your experience.
and black friday Coming soon (November 28th), I've put together a list of great Magic gifts for the special Magic player in your life, from game mats and card sleeves to dice and merch.
As a competitive player for over 10 years, these are products that I already own and would purchase for personal use, so rest assured these recommendations are not without a lot of trial and error.
Top Magic: Collecting Gifts
Magic has been around for over 30 years, but thanks to A recent crossover set with other IPs, Wizards of the Coast (WoTC) is calling “Universes Beyond”its audience grew significantly. Works like “Lord of the Rings”, fall outAssassin's Creed, etc. have all received MTG treatment. “Avatar: The Last Airbender” Set to release next week as the next crossover. The next universe after the inner universe beyond crossover Lowen eclipsed set to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Both upcoming sets are available for pre-order.
Sealing products
Magic sets are released every few months, and with them come a variety of Sealed products to help complement your collection. You have booster boxes, collectible boosters, starter kits, commander decks, the list goes on. I recommend starting with a recently released set, or reviewing Expansion packs like Edge of Eternity. They make great gifts as they contain nine booster packs, an Alternative Art promo card, extra land cards, a spin life counter, and the box itself is a great storage solution for the extra cards.
card holder
You have all these beautiful new cards, what should you do with them? Card sleeves are the perfect solution, not only providing protection but also allowing for easy shuffling. ultimate guard and Super Professional Edition are some of the best MTG accessories brands, but dragon shield The sleeves are a gift I would recommend for dad. The Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves are great too. The matte sleeves are crisp and feel great in the hand. Whatever you choose, make sure you're using standard size sleeves, not Japanese card sizes– Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards are much smaller than magic cards!
deck box
Your cards are now ready for battle. Now you need a reliable deck box. You can’t go wrong here with Ultimate Guard’s powerful options. I'm a big fan of this flip tray Myself, as it can accommodate a full deck, sideboard and tokens, as well as a built-in dice compartment. For a larger storage solution, large boxes are available that can hold up to 500 loose cards. All Ultimate Guard options come in several different colors, and The Ultra PRO box has some great official MTG artwork on it.
game mat
A game mat is a must-have for all Magic players because without it, it's difficult to pick up the cards off the kitchen table. Often made from the same materials as standard mouse pads, many people (myself included) like to use pads with their favorite cards or their artwork on them Most Proud Magic Achievement. If you find yourself somewhere, you can even buy a blank white playmat magic trick And want to commission your favorite artist to make it look trendy!
Dice and counters
Tracking planeswalker loyalty, +1/+1 counters, or final counters can be a huge headache without an efficient method. Fortunately, a set of D6 can solve your problem. Some of the more unique cards such as Sour Undeadgives other creatures ability counters that are hard to keep track of, so I highly recommend a set of ability counters to go with your arsenal of accessories.
Adhesive
if you have Rare or valuable cards If you don't want to store them in a bulky storage box, binders are the best way to keep them nice and pristine. Both Ultimate Guard and Ultra PRO come in a variety of sizes and colors, but Ultimate Guard's Zipfolio is my go-to for expensive pieces. These are great to throw in your backpack when you're heading out into the local area friday night magic
Other accessories
These recommendations are just the tip of the iceberg of what these accessory manufacturers have to offer. There are countless other sleeves, boxes, and mats to choose from, so pick your favorite Magic player's favorite for a great gift. Other accessories I recommend are life mats; some Magic players prefer to write down their life totals and take notes instead of using MTG Companion App Or a speed down counter.
Dry Erase Tokens are great for cards with copy functionality. Playmat Tubes are a great storage solution for keeping your mats dry and safe, while Ultra PRO Land Stations are a great way to sort your basic land or have it ready for you. booster draft night.
commodity
do you know The IGN store has some great Magic merchandise? We had some T-shirts, a crewneck sweater, and even a 17-ounce stainless steel water bottle for sale. These make great gifts if you're not quite sure what cards, sets, or formats your favorite Magic player would like!
