Blizzard has revealed Overwatch 2 Stadiumonly a few weeks after the release of the new model. The roadmap includes information about the heroes being added to the stadium lineup, new maps and modes within the stadium, and some statistics on player time have been related to the mode.
As part of the mid-season update, the latest injury hero Hero Freja will be added to the stadium’s limited roster, with Blizzard saying it is expected to launch on May 20. It will then be launched in season 17 in June, which will bring Sigma, Junkrat and Zenyatta to the roster. The stadium roster starts with just 17 heroes and is a feature and power of the new mode that you can use to build in modes. These require additional balance, so Blizzard is slowly adding a full Overwatch roster to the mode. The update will also include two more maps, namely Esperanca and Samoa, as well as the ability to save custom builds and share them. Season 17 will also include Cross-play, which is not available in this mode as the console and PC player do not share competitive halls.

Season 18 will begin in August, with Winston, Sohorne and Briggit joining the roster, as well as a new game mode payload race. The payload race will come with two payload maps, namely Route 66 and London, although Blizzard does not share any details about the pattern matching the regular payload. The roadmap stops in Season 19, just pointing out that more maps and heroes will continue to be added to the mode along with new items.
Blizzard also shared that the stadium is currently the most popular mode in Overwatch 2, with the “eclipsed” fast playback and competitiveness, which are the two main modes. The mode played 2.3 million games in 7.8 million hours, more than double the Overwatch Classic Saw at launch, the new model that was the most popular before. Blizzard also shared that Lucio is both the hero with the highest winning rate and the lowest draft.
