GameSir’s two versatile mobile controllers for smartphones, small tablets, and Nintendo consoles are on sale at Walmart and Amazon for a limited time. It's worth noting that both controllers can be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 in handheld mode. They have better ergonomics than the Joy-Con 2 controllers, with traditional D-pad, taller sticks, and larger buttons. GameSir X5s discounted to $40 at Walmart (originally $50) and Amazon $45. GameSir just launched this affordable model this summer. If you're willing to spend more, the high-end GameSir G8 Plus Galileo adds a remappable back button and a few other features; it sells for $59.89 at Walmart (originally $80) and Amazon $72.
Walmart's G8 Plus discount is listed as a “flash sale,” while Amazon's deal is a limited-time deal with a specific number of units available.

The GameSir X5s feature ergonomic textured grips that should be more comfortable for most players than the flat Joy-Con 2 grips. Like other dedicated mobile controllers, the X5s features an expandable bridge and silicone pad to accommodate devices up to 8.38 inches: Switch 2, Switch OLED, Switch, all iPhones, most Android phones, and small tablets.
The X5s features Hall-effect rockers and detachable face buttons so you can switch between Xbox and Nintendo control layouts. Another advanced feature is dual trigger mode. Hall-effect triggers can move linearly like a regular controller, or you can lock them into quick buttons. Speaking of burst fire, there's also a turbo function that can be assigned to the face button, bumper, or trigger. It also features 6-axis motion control and a traditional 4-way directional pad.
Using GameSir's free mobile app, you can adjust stick and trigger sensitivity as well as the strength of the dual rumble motors. The controller charges via USB-C and can run for up to 12 hours between charges.

Nintendo Switch 2 Ergonomic Grip

If you're primarily interested in improving the Switch 2's ergonomics in handheld mode, you can opt for the attachable controllers. The market for ergonomic grips has become quite crowded since the Switch 2 launched in June. My favorite Switch 2 grip so far is Dbrand’s Killswitch, currently selling for $80 bundle at Best Buy Comes with screen cover. The Killswitch features separate controller grips with contoured ridges for your fingers to rest on. You can still use the console's built-in kickstand and attach the case to the back. However, unlike some Switch 2 controllers, the Killswitch prevents you from docking the console normally. Luckily, it comes with a Switch 2 dock adapter that can be connected to Nintendo's Dock Set. It's cleverly designed and works really well. The travel bag also comes with an accessory that can store 10 game cards.
Another grip I recommend is Genki's Attack Vector Grip Box. I don't think it's as comfortable as Dbrand's Killswitch, but it works like normal with the Switch 2 Dock Set. It comes with three different pairs of grips that can be changed at any time according to your personal preference. Genki's Attack Vector also comes with a travel cover. You can buy it on Amazon for $60. It’s worth noting that Genki also makes a slim travel case grip called the force field 2 That's $30.
There are many affordable Switch 2 controllers on Amazon. Some of them are obviously inspired by Dbrand's Killswitch. For example, BHGift Docking Grip Box ($20) and Timovo Docking Grip Box ($14.87) Has a contoured ridge like the Killswitch. For budget options in Genki's Attack Vector style, there are Skull & Co. NeoGrip for $30.
JSAUX is another popular budget brand, with some great options priced under $30. this Split case with travel cover Only $27 (regularly $30). We've put together a custom Amazon page where you can see these grips and others side by side.
