Eight years on from its initial announcement, the long-awaited “Metroid 4: Beyond” It's now just a month away from release – and today, fans can watch the latest trailer.
Metroid 4: Beyond , set to release on December 4, remains mysterious, with Nintendo keeping details about the long-delayed first-person shooter largely under wraps.
Exactly how it will continue the story of the Metroid trilogy 18 years later is unknown. All the areas Samus will visit? No clues. The legend of Jozo? Dark Samus? Fazon? Other bounty hunters? Time will tell. (Nonetheless, as of September, We know Samus somehow has a motorcycle.)
Especially this year, Nintendo fans are annoyed by the continued wait for more information, and Rumors of postponement continue to spread as The wait for release date drags on. Glimpses of the game so far haven't sparked much excitement either, with reactions to the Switch 2 event demo being rather mixed (to be fair, The linear and not very exciting part of the game at the beginning) and briefly displayed in September Nintendo Direct.
Fans were also surprised by the apparent lack of marketing dedicated to the game. Kirby Sky Riders was featured in two lengthy Nintendo Directs, but Metroid Prime 4 was not.
But there's still time for Metroid Prime 4's hype machine to get going. Now, 30 days away from release, fans are celebrating that today's new trailer does just that. While there's nothing standout in the video, it does provide an interesting look at Samus in action, highlight the bad guy Sylux, and revisit more of the game's setting: the planet Viewros.
“The trailer feels like, 'Yeah, we've heard all about your marketing. Just take this,'” Metroid fan Jawmuncher wrote on reset era. “I agree. This is a trailer I could use to sell someone the game. That last trailer I couldn't, unless they really like motorcycles.”
“Finally a good trailer,” AppleKid agreed. “Still wanting to know more, but at least this trailer isn't as discouraging as the first two. The game looks great!”
But there are still calls for an in-depth look at Metroid Prime 4 via a dedicated Nintendo Direct. “There are two Kirby Sky Riders,” Kanimus pointed out. “People have been actively anticipating this game since its release eight years ago and should probably get one.”
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 next month.
