NEX playground is discounted at all major retailers, but Amazon is the most expensive

Amazon's price also shows $199, but if you click on a 5% discount below the price, Amazon will shave an extra $10 from checkout.

The $60 discount is the biggest discount for fashion gadgets, but the $189 price isn't the lowest ever. This is because retailers increased from $199 to $249 at the end of May. That said, previous sales cut only $20 from the price, so the current deal is close to the best price to date ($179).

NEX Playground uses sensors to track your movements, allowing you to participate in a variety of dance, sports and fitness games. It is reminiscent of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One's Kinect.

Out of the box, Nex playground has five games:

• Whip Moore Deluxe: When they pop up on the screen, an annoying mole pops up.
• Party birds: Participate in various mini games.
• Fruit Ninja: Slice the fruit thrown onto the screen.
• Starri: Rhythm game where you can beat.
• Go Keeper: Be a goalkeeper in this arcade-style football game.

If you want other games, you must register for a game pass. That’s $89 per year and $49 for three months and unlocked in 20 new champions including Elmo Said, Peppa Pig: Jump & Giggle and Candy Land: Sugary Sprint. You'll also find a game that makes cool changes on the unique version of Connect 4 and Hungry hippos.

The NEX playground comes with HDMI cables, power cords, a removable camera cover, and a remote control for navigation menu systems along with the console and five games. Up to four players can use one system at the same time. If friends or family have their own NEX playground, you can collaborate or compete with them in online multiplayer.

Although we haven't seen the NEX playground sell out on Amazon in other big promotions last year, it's one of them Best-selling products in the Toys and Video Games category. The deal could disappear before the end of Amazon sales on Friday night, as other retailers are unable to receive bonus discounts.

If you haven't heard of the NEX playground, the cube-shaped “active gaming system” has become a fixture for Amazon's top rankings during the big sales period. It became famous during Amazon Game Week and during the big spring sale earlier this year, again attracting attention during Amazon’s biggest annual sale.

Amazon's list of best-selling toys and games during Prime Day 2025 is full of a lot you'll expect: Big Box Crayola Colored Pencils Cheap, one 36 packs of Play-Dohthose very popular Picasso Magnetic Building Kit, Star Wars Legoone of the Balancing Toddler Bicycle It looks like it was designed by Apple. Few expensive electronic devices crack the top charts in large sales unless the electronics are a toniebox or Nex Playground.

Toniebox has been a popular interactive audio device for children for years, but the success of the NEX playground is a recent phenomenon. It launched in late 2023 and arrived at major retailers like Amazon last summer. According to the store page, Amazon has sold more than 10,000 units in the past month. That number, believe it or not, put it on top of any single PS5 console model: PS5 Slim (8,000), PS5 Slim Digital (More than 3,000), PS5 (more than 5,000), even discount PS5 Slim Digital Summoning Bundle (1,000+).

Amazon Prime Day lasts until Friday, July 11.
