Amazon Disclosure Multiple layoffs in gaming division Earlier this week, it's now clear these cuts are impacting the teams at the back New World: Eternity. Following the recently released Season 10: Nighthaven update, no new content will be released for New World: Eternal.
This announcement has been shared On the game’s official website Developed by developer Amazon Games Orange County. This doesn't mean the game is going offline soon, the developers say the game will remain online until 2026. Beyond that, there are no guarantees. But there is a small consolation for players, now the Night Harbor update will be free.
“The recently launched Season 10 and Nighthaven updates will be released as the final content for New World on PC and consoles,” the developers wrote in a statement. “We have made this decision after careful consideration. To thank the New World community for their support over the years, we are making the Nighthaven version free for everyone. To ensure that all New World players can experience this content, we are also making Rise of the Wrath of the Wrath Earth free for all PC players.”
New World Eternal will continue to be available on PlayStation Plus for Extra and Premium subscribers, but even the developer isn't sure when that arrangement will expire. Bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements will continue in this new phase of the game, and players can continue to purchase and download the game. There will still be world bosses, bonus weeks, and “some seasonal events,” but holiday events are now cancelled.
The development team also said that “at least six months' notice will be given before any changes are made that affect your ability to play New World Eternal.”
