Rock Star Denim Classics Red Dead Redemption Now approved for release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
New ESRB grade Red Dead Redemption bursts onto the scene on modern consoles (it's rated M for mature due to gore, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content and drug use).
The rating also mentions “zombies,” likely referring to the game's beloved Undead Nightmare expansion – so fans should probably expect that as well.
Rockstar has yet to officially launch a new version of Red Dead Redemption, but it does now have 12 months to fill since the latest delay for Grand Theft Auto 6 – which is currently set to release on November 19, 2026.
Originally released in 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Red Dead Redemption is now officially available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. Sure, you can play the PS4 version on PS5 (and the Xbox 360 version on Xbox Series X/S), but there's no native version available for modern consoles yet.
(Of course, there's no modern console version of Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, but that's one thing at a time.)
Rockstar faced criticism from fans and employees earlier this month Fired more than 30 employees, saying they leaked confidential company information. Workers organize a physical protest outside Rockstar offices In response, more than 200 employees signed an open letter stating Claims of unemployment are attempts to undermine unions.
All of the sacked employees are believed to be members of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB), which is organized through an external Discord channel. This week, IWGB confirms it has filed legal claim against Rockstar – The company has not yet responded.
