New Borderlands 4 character Short introduces Rafa’s violent past

Gearbox Software has released the upcoming Predator shooter game Intestate 4. A new character called “Yolt,” the video introduces Rafa the Exo-Soldier Moments before connecting with the morally bankrupt Tediore Corporation. It also shows some of his abilities, including the arc-shaped rotating sword deployed by Rafa Exsuit.

In short, Rafa can be seen proudly during the live Tediore Corp. Showcase. Things get worse when his commander reveals the merits of the lawsuit – even if the wearer dies – and the company's desire to cut expenses, it works. The chaos that follows is ridiculous. Rafa goes from standing on attention to fighting to exploding enemies, to the way of seconds.

What’s interesting about Rafa’s brief is its natural dark tone. While these activities are still in line with past Borderlands games, the themes introduced are serious. Borderlands 4 may not only be a joke for fans when September arrives, but there will be a engaging character-driven story.

Borderlands 4 will be available on September 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version will drop on October 3, 2025.
