Our Last Part 2 Developer Naughty Dog surprised fans by releasing a chronological experience option that redefines the game's storyline as a linear narrative.
The new mode is part of a free update today on PC and PlayStation 5, with Part 2's nonlinear narrative as a new option for season players. Interestingly, Naughty Dog makes it clear that it treats the new chronological option as something extra rather than the original storytelling of the alternative game, which is “very intentional and core to how our studio wants the theme and narrative rhythm of Part 2 to affect the player”.
The Naughty Dog even said that new players are advised not to use the chronological experience option to play for the first time, but to experience the story of Part 2 in a “original development”.
Described as “a fun new way to enjoy this chapter,” the game's new chronological experience option is right after the second season of our last TV series, and after confirming that it was a few days later Charter creator Neil Druckmann will no longer play a role in the future of HBO adaptation.
“With the new chronological order, we believe players will gain a deeper understanding of the Part 2 narrative,” Naughty Dog’s Jonathon Dornbush explain today.
For example, players will be able to see how Ellie exudes guitar talent, for example, in her study and study, the journey through Seattle will showcase the fascinating similarities between Ellie and Abby’s traversal journey. You see how their actions affect each other, how they influence each other, and so on. ”
By Chronological mode is conducted by Naughty Dog in partnership with co-development partner Nixxes, and once completed, a new PlayStation trophy will be awarded along with several award outfits.
Today's update adds Joel's outfit, with his brother Sam Drake wearing unknown heroes Nathan Drake and Tommy. Finally, there are also a lot of other bug fixes and performance improvements.
Next to be the studio's upcoming science fiction project for Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann Star-like: Heresy Prophet. The studio is working Druckmann's other unannounced game “More Producer Characters”.
