More than half of you chose Crocodile for your Pokémon Legends: ZA Starter

Who is your starting Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: ZA? Wait, wait, let me guess: Is it a crocodile?
Chances are, I'm right, at least based on We conducted a poll yesterday around the launch of ZA. Our poll, which has been running for 22 hours and has received more than 11,000 votes from IGN readers, shows that of the three starter Pokémon for ZA, more than half of IGN viewers chose Crocodile over Tepig or Chikorita.
At the time of writing, the water-type Chikorita received 56% of the votes, 24% chose the grass-type Chikorita, and only 20% (a fifth of our readers) chose the fire-type Tepig – and we agree with the winner: Statistically, Totodile is the best choice, but there are some caveats that we discuss in our Pokemon Legends: ZA Best Starter Guide. Update: With 32K votes cast, Totodile remains locked in at 56%, Chikorita at 25.3%, and Tepig at a tepid 18.7%.
This probably won't shock anyone, though, as Crocodile has long been a fan favorite. Look at this biting boy! Chikorita and Tepig have historically been less popular, with Tepig being particularly the outlier among the trio, as Totodile and Chikorita are both from Johto, while Tepig is a starter in Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2.
That said, while I personally picked the Chikorita (having picked the Totodile every time in the second generation and wanting a change), I have to say that Tepig has the best final Mega Evolution of the three by far. All members of this trio get new Mega Evolutions in ZA, and while I won't spoil them here, Meganium's is pretty disappointing, and Feraligatr's looks weird. Embed? Looks great.
But don’t think too much. All three starters play perfectly throughout ZA's campaign, and once you get to the final stages, you can easily catch all three Pokémon in your PokeDex, so you don't miss a beat.
