Mass Effect boss knows you're “hungry for news about the next game,” but you can't get it yet

Today is N7 Day, BioWare's annual celebration of the Mass Effect series, and to mark the occasion, the developer has updated its next game and TV show. Don't get too excited, though, because BioWare wants people to know it can't reveal too much.
Executive Producer Michael Gamble explain The next title in the Mass Effect series is still in development, and “EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe.” Gamble also addressed rumors that BioWare was being shut down or sold as part of EA's $55 billion sale to a consortium of investors led by Saudi Arabia.
“Like you, we have heard rumors recently. You have made it clear that you are very concerned about what happens next,” he said.
There has been speculation that if EA's $55 billion sale goes through, the new owner will BioWare may be shut down or sold. The studio’s latest game, Dragon Age: Veiled Keeper, Failed to meet EA's sales expectations. It remains to be seen what the new owners will do, or how EA will raise the funds to pay off the $20 billion in debt attached to the deal. This uncertainty is a business risk for EA.
Gamble didn't address the rumors specifically, but said the BioWare team is “putting our heads down and focusing on Mass Effect.”
He added: “We have a lot of universes to cover, a lot of features to build, and a lot of romance to figure out. We're excited about what we're building, and we promise you: it's going to be fun to show off when we're ready.”
Gamble said he knows people are “hungry for news” and thanked them for their patience until the studio shares more information.
Mass Effect TV Show Updates
In addition to the Mass Effect game series, Gamble has also updated Amazon's Mass Effect TV series. He said the writers' room is “growing” and that writers have come up with “a lot” of ideas about how the show connects to the wider Mass Effect canon and “where it positions itself relative to the new games.”
“The show will explore an entirely new story in the universe's timeline, set after the events of the original trilogy. It won't be a rehash of Commander Shepard's story – because after all – that's your story, isn't it?” he said.
