The two most iconic Mario Kart items Not always return lock Mario Karting World for Switch 2. Yabuki producer Kosuke Yabuki said in a new interview that Nintendo “re-reviewed all elements of Mario Kart”, which included considerations about cutting green shells and banana items.
The developer finally decided to object, but Yabuki told GamesRadar The team challenged themselves to think about the traditional Mario Kart elements and considered: “Is it still meaningful to include this project in the Mario Kart world?”
Yabuki said that for Green Shell, the item is synonymous with Mario Kart “time in Memoriam”, but Nintendo still wants to make sure Mario Kart World still makes sense.
“We are asking ourselves here, ‘When you can throw it onto the course, is that enough?’ For example, a racer like Mario can ride, should we make the shells able to slide across the tracks as well? “He said. “So when considering the implementation of each project, we have reviewed its specifications and evaluated whether they should be the same as before, otherwise we should modify it and add different elements to it.” ”
Bananas and green shells are versatile items as players can use them offensively or defensively and are the hallmarks of the series. They are not the only return items in Mario Kart games in the past, as mushrooms, stars, red shells, lightning, bullet bills and blue shells can all be returned. Some new items in the Mario Kart world include hammers, big mushrooms, feathers and Kamek.
