Mafia: Ancient country stories, environments and characters
Mafia: The old country brings players back to the old country – that is, Sicily. Players will play the role of Enzo Favara, whose childhood begins to force labor. Now, 2K says he is “ready to take the risk of everything being a honorary figure in Torrice's criminal family.”
2K says the game will work like a “classic mob movie”, which means players will encounter criminal underworld and everything that comes with it. Players can expect to fight against the “cruel enemy” as they live a life of fighting in the turf war.
“The Enzo story was a fatal asset when it was a skill with high heel blades at the time, a Lupara saw shotgun was a gun of choice, decades of raging murder and vendetta, Mafiosi patrolled their protective rackets, walking, riding or racing behind, or behind the wheels of the city.
Not an open world
Unlike previous entries in the series, the Mafia: The Old Country is a Liner, narratively driven game is the opposite of the open world title. 2K said it believes there is a “attracting audiences of compelling stories that don't require a huge commitment to time.”
2K releases the old country as a linear game at a price of $50 instead of $70 or above, which is the background of games that surge in budgets, higher prices and larger players demand more time in the world.
So far, players have responded positively to news about the lower price points and trimming scales in the old country, but now say whether the two will pay off in terms of key reception or sales of the game.
