The series offers a great way to experience the two most important RPGs from the 16-bit and 32-bit console era. The original Moon: Silver Star story is considered a landmark champion in the Japanese RPG lineage and is one of the first console RPGs equipped with sound performances, animated cutscenes and CD-quality music, thanks to its original platform SEGA CD. Later, it was a remake of PS1 and Sega Saturn as a remake of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, a version in the Lunar Remastered series. Its sequel, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, is also launched on PS1 and Saturn, and is built on the gameplay and story demonstration of the first game, which includes more voice conversations and bigger casts.
Sound performances, cutscenes and high-quality soundtracks are now common elements of video games, when they were groundbreaking – although sound performances are now notorious for their uneven quality. However, the new remake series includes a brand new English sound performance for both games – although both remake scripts are based on original localization. The Lunar Remastered Collection also includes the option to perform with Japanese voice, and you can also swap between the new enhanced visuals of the two games or PS1 visuals.
