The manga series “Uzumaki” that made Ito famous is widely regarded as his masterpiece. The Vortex is a horror story that explores the concept of the spiral, featuring elegant horror art and a slow-burn story that draws you in. Set in a small town on the coast of Japan, the story follows young protagonists Kirie Goto and Shuichi Saito as they investigate the hypnotic and secret shapes of the world. This edition collects the entire comic series into a 648-page hardcover edition and features multiple color illustrations.

Another of Ito's critically acclaimed dramas, Tomie, centers on a mysterious and beautiful woman named Tomie Kawakami. The series, which was published in Halloween Monthly from 1987 to 2000, centers on Tomie, a seemingly immortal succubus who manipulates people into jealous rage that inevitably leads to vicious acts of violence. Although Tomie is often killed, she only resurrects herself in order to continue spreading the curse to others. This hardcover edition contains the entire saga, totaling 752 pages.

Like many other popular mangakas, Ito's works have been adapted into television series for various anime series. Uzumaki was probably the most ambitious attempt to bring his work to life, and while it may not have lived up to expectations, the animated adaptation is still an effective horror series.
