Get Out (2017) and the United States (2019) are widely regarded as the two best modern horror movies. Peele wrote, directed and produced both films. To get out, Peele's director made his debut, won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay and was nominated for Best Director. Going out also received the best picture nomination, with lead actor Daniel Kaluuya being nominated for Best Actor.
Kaluuya also starred in the 2022 film Nope, Peele's third and most recent directorial project. Nope has received widespread praise and demonstrates Peele's range in the horror genre. While his first two movies are psychological horror, Nope is a fascinating combination of horror, science fiction and New West.
