The Secret Agent James Bond fans didn't take long to decide who they think is (not like this) the mysterious actor 007 First Light.
The game's new trailer, Played in Sony's Game Statusshowing a bond that is especially young, just set out from the Royal Navy and keen to win 00 agent status. But who is playing the role of champion?
A few minutes after the trailer aired, fans started reddit Begin to guess Dexter: The new blood star Patrick Gibson is behind the new bond, and he certainly has a strong similarity to the characters in the trailer.
“I beat him the second time I saw his dirty giggle,” wrote a 007 enthusiast. “Yes, I peeked at it as soon as I saw it,” another said.
“Looking at the trailer, I know that the face looks familiar,” said the third. “After about a minute, I screamed 'dexter'. I'm pretty sure it was him.”
The Irish actor is 30 years old, a few years older than the 26-year-old version of Bond he looks to portray in the upcoming game – If IO Interactive progresses gradually, there are several sequels.
And if Gibson is familiar to you, the actor has played a series of TV and movie roles on his belt, including appearances in Shadow and Bones, Tudor and OA. But this is his role as a young version of Dexter Morgan in the prequel series Dexter: his most famous original sin.

Strangely, the 007 First Light Developer IO Interactive has not confirmed Gibson itself – although IGN has asked the studio if it can comment on the Internet's guess. For the moment, Gibson seems to have retained Schtum.
Gibson's obvious debut in the trailer for 007 First Light describes the game as a global playback story-driven action-adventure game where you can choose how to deal with various challenges with brute force or 007's trademark charm.
Bond laughed a few jokes as the trailer showed Bond out of the situation. Gibson's performance ribs for the appearance of antihero Dexter will be fully utilized.
007 First Light will launch the Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S sometime in 2026. If you missed it Everything Sony shows in June 2025.
