Intellivision Sprint pre-orders now live on Amazon

If you long for a return to the formative days of console gaming, Then you'll want to check out the upcoming Intellivision Sprint. The device blends the retro charm of the original Intellivision with modern conveniences like HDMI ports and wireless controllers. It also comes with 45 built-in video games, such as Boulder Dash, Baseball, and Astrosmash. The Intellivision Sprint will be available for $150 starting December 5, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Intellivision Sprint was created in partnership with Plaion and Intellivision's biggest competitor in the 1980s, Atari, which acquired the Intellivision brand in 2024. While the new device recreates the classic look of the original Intellivision, including its faux wood panel elements, it also has upgraded features like an HDMI port, allowing it to connect to modern TVs. It comes preloaded with 89 games (see the full list below) and two wireless rechargeable “disc” controllers. Available for pre-order on Amazon.

Retro gaming enthusiasts have a few other options for getting their classic computing fix, including C64 Mini-Black Edition. This $120 replica comes preloaded with the C64 Mini's original 64-game lineup and 25 modern games, such as Sam's Journey and A Pig Quest. That means you get a total of 89 games that pay homage to the original Commodore 64 computer. The game displays at 720p resolution, and you can even apply scanlines via CRT filters. As with the original Commodore 64, you can even write your own programs and/or launch games added to the C64 Mini via a USB stick, and with the vast homebrew library on Itch.io, you can populate the device's library with new games. Consider pairing it with the 8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard: C64 Edition. The wireless keyboard adopts C64 style design. It supports PC, Mac, SteamOS, Android and iOS. Currently on sale for $95 (originally $110).
Another mini retro computer produced by Retro Games is Atari Mini 400. Priced at $120, it plays all Atari 8-bit games on a variety of machines, including the 400, 130XE, 800XL, and Atari 5200 consoles.
