How to get Dipplin and Hydrapple in Pokemon Go

Dipplin is another alternate evolution of Applin, originally introduced as part of the Teal Mask DLC Pokemon scarlet and violet. However, like Aplin's other evolved forms, you need to collect a new type of item – Syrup Apples – before you can get them, and they're a bit hard to come by. Here are some tips to help you get Dipplin and Hydrapple in Pokemon Go.

How to get Diplin

The easiest way to obtain a diplin is to evolve one from an aplin, but you'll need to collect quite a few items first. Specifically, you need 200 Aplin Candies and 20 Syrup Apples to trigger evolution.

Syrup Apples are a new type of item introduced as part of the Harvest Festival event and can be found in PokeStops. Once you've collected the necessary items, you can evolve Aplin into Diplin directly from the Pokemon's details page.

How to get syrup apples

Like Sweet Apples and Sour Apples (required to evolve Applin into Appletun or Flapple respectively), the main way to obtain Syrup Apples is at PokeStops. Set up a moss bait module at one of these waypoints, and while the module is active, apples will appear on the map periodically.

Once you see an apple, simply click on the item to collect it. Not every apple can be picked, however; sometimes clicking on one will trigger an encounter with a wild Pokémon, so you'll need patience and perseverance when trying to collect them.

How to evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple

You no longer need more Syrup Apples to get Water Apples, but you will need to stockpile a lot of Candies. its cost 400 Aplin Candy Evolve Diplin into a sea apple. Most importantly, you must Catch seven Dragon-type Pokémon when Diplin is set as your friend This adds complexity to the process before you trigger evolution.

Collecting 400 candies usually takes quite a while, but there are several ways to speed up the process. Since Aplin appears more frequently during the Harvest Festival event, be sure to use Pinup Berries before catching the Pokémon to increase the number of bonus candies you receive. You can also convert any rare candies you have stockpiled into Applin Candies, which will help you reach the 400 requirement faster.

Can Dipplin and Hydrapple shine?

Since shiny Applins haven't been added to Pokemon Go yet, you can't get a Shiny Dipplin or Hydrapple in the mobile game yet. There's no indication yet when Shiny Aplin will debut in Pokemon Go, but new shiny Pokemon typically launch during special events, so it's likely it will appear as part of some future event.
