Homer Rain donuts land in Springfield and turn Professor Frink into a banana in latest 'Simpsons' Fortnite short, as long-time fans celebrate the return of 'The Omniverse'

Released today, “Sugar High” tells the story of Homer as he continues to use the almighty Bits and Pieces to “improve” reality. The short begins with Homer getting some helpful explanations from the residents The Simpsons Scientist Professor Flink, until Homer turns the scientist into a new version of Fortnite's Banana Peelly (soon to be available as a skin to Battle Pass holders).
When Homer causes giant donut rains to rain from the sky – something players will experience in next week's game – the residents of Springfield turn against Homer. The second half of the short film seems to have begun Next This week's Fortnite theme sees Homer successfully clone himself and somehow create an army of zombies.
Fortnite plans to release two more Simpsons shorts, which will be available online or through Disney+ during the second half of the Springfield mini-season, which is expected to culminate with a major in-game live event on November 29. While these characters aren't expected to return before the end of The Simpsons' current season, Fortnite fans and pundits Reztro points out that today's short film references Fortnite lore's “Omniverse,” essentially the term for the multiverse of the multiverse within the game. The term was introduced in previous Fortnite comics starring The Seven, and was last mentioned in 2022 by Dwayne Johnson's in-game character The Foundation.
Also spotted in today's trailer: further confirmation that The Simpsons character Moe will be purchasable as an in-game skin, along with an original character with a donut on his head.
