Unfortunately, what is often seen in the game is the announcement of a team’s cool and exciting new project, followed by months or even years of radio silence. Often, these titles are announced ahead of time – in the absence of gameplay, usually only logos, not logos – excited (and recruiting numbers) before starting to seriously develop for a long time. Sometimes it only takes a long time to cook the hottest new thing (e.g. Hollow Knight: Silk) and other times, these tempting new worlds do not reach the finish line.

Since the beginning of the Xbox One era, many of its most exciting prospects (such as ScaleBound and Everwild) have faced long delays before being canned, while others (such as the current MMO from Zenimax) have never even seen the light of a day.
