Halo 17-year veteran leaves Xbox and shares ominous message as he leaves

A 17-year veteran of the Halo development team has left the company, posting an ominous-sounding message as he leaves.
Glenn Israel on LinkedIn He “no longer contributes to the Halo universe” after working on the sci-fi series since 2008. Israel started working on the Halo series at Bungie and later joined 343 Industries (now known as Halo Studios) as art director.
Israel said in his post that “I have nothing to say at this time” regarding the nature of his exit from the Halo development team. “I intend to share this special story in its entirety next year when it is absolutely safe to do so,” he added.
He also shared a message for others in the gaming industry, which has been facing “scary” times lately. “No illusion of security, no promise of wealth, fame or power is worth sacrificing your health, dignity, morals or values, and no one can force you to do so,” he said. “Stay strong, get the evidence if necessary, and find where you belong.”
GameSpot has reached out to Microsoft to try to get more details about this situation and Israel's exit from Halo Studios. Before that, Halo Studios chief of staff Melissa Boone has left to join Riot Games.
Israel left Halo Studios before the company was founded The next step in the Halo series will be announced later this month. Microsoft has confirmed it is working on Multiple new Halo projectsand they are made using Unreal Engine 5. Many expect news from Microsoft this month to be related to the next Halo game.
2021's Halo Infinite is the latest entry in the main series. Since then, Microsoft has made significant changes to the series and its studio, including installing a new executive leadership team and changing the game engine for future projects, while acknowledging that Halo Infinite missed the mark in some ways. Xbox boss Matt Booty previously said Halo Infinite launches like a runner stumbling at the finish line.
“Halo Infinite is the last remnant of the way we used to make Halo games. That was our recipe. And what we're doing now is changing our recipe,” said studio director Pierre Hintze.

According to reports Microsoft wants to bring Halo to PS5 and Switch 2and it could happen as soon as this year. Specifically, Microsoft is said to Preparing for new Halo: Combat Evolved Remastered project. Microsoft gaming boss Phil Spencer says 2026 will be the 25th anniversary of the birth of Xbox and Halo Microsoft may release new Halo project next year and new Fable and Gears of War games.
