Geoff Keighley's mysterious Game Awards trailer statue sparked widespread speculation about which video game announcement it was tied to, but so far the internet is stumped.
Keighley kicked off the Game Awards hype train last week when he tweeted a photo of the Demon Monolith located in the Mojave Desert, along with the confusing caption “Regal. Inspiring. Thick.”

Windows Central reporter Jez Corden Take it to social media The joke is related to the expansion pack for Blizzard's action role-playing game “Diablo 4.” Blizzard has said that Diablo 4 will get an expansion in 2026 (along with a new ranking system and leaderboards), so it would make sense to show up at The Game Awards later this month.
But Corden’s claims were debunked by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who argued reset era We insist that the statue has nothing to do with the Diablo 4 expansion, but that's not to say that Diablo won't make an appearance at the Game Awards in some form.
“Not sure where Jez got this, but this statue isn't teasing the Diablo 4 expansion,” Schreier said. “Sorry, I'm not going to report what it is at the moment, but it's a good thing.”
The clarification sparked a new round of speculation, with some fans pointing to Bethesda's long-awaited release of The Elder Scrolls 6. Unfortunately, according to Schreier, that's not the case either.
“I would do it again because people are out of control: No, this statue is not a tease of The Elder Scrolls 6,” Schreier said in a statement reset era. “Now I won't respond to that question anymore. Unless someone comes up to me at the JW Bar next week and asks very nicely, then maybe I will, depending on how much I drink.”
Some people think this may be related to Sony's God of War series, but Gaming YouTuber Luke Stephens Claims God of War development lead Cory Barlog popped up during one of his livestreams to rule out the possibility.
So, what is that? Given the demonic aspect of the statue, some have suggested some kind of Doom-related announcement, perhaps DLC. Some fans went crazy recommending everything from Bloodborne 2 to Half-Life 3. The latter has been rumored recently. In fact, Jeff Keighley's statue can be associated with almost any video game that has a demonic or hellish theme. That's a lot of video games. But based on Schreier's comments (“It's a good one”) and all the effort that went into making this joke come true, I have high hopes.
The Game Awards kick off on Thursday, December 11, so we'll soon find out what the statue means. Let us know your best guess in the comments.
