Fallout 4K Blu-ray Protocol – Catch up before Season 2 premiere in December

Amazon's Fallout Adaptation Season 1 is about to be purchased $30 on Amazon's 4K Blu-ray. Fallout Season 1 is available in 4K and 1080p Blu-ray and DVD released on July 8. Now, as Amazon reveals, it's not a bad time to catch up or re-watch Season 1 Season 2 of “Fallout” will premiere on December 17. All episodes were released on the same day as Season 1, and Season 2 will follow a traditional weekly schedule. The series will be aired on Wednesday, with the second season finale scheduled for February 4.

To be clear, the Fallout 4K Blu-ray deal is for the standard version of the plastic box, not Amazon's exclusive steel plate version. Shortly after the pre-order opens in April, the collection of 4K Blu-ray versions sold out. We saw a brief restocking during launch week and mid-July, but it has been sold out for about a month now. Amazon says it is indeed a limited edition, so we won't be surprised if the steel plate version disappears permanently.

Fallout: Season 1 is a three-disk set that includes all eight episodes in 4K resolution (2160p) for HDR (Dolby Vision and HDR10). It also uses Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound to support enhanced audio.

Season 1's eight episode clock is 450 minutes (7.5 hours). Once done, you can pop up a special function disc and watch various behind-the-scenes features. Like many other 4K shows and movie releases, the bonus content is on regular Blu-ray discs rather than 4K.
