Different from the recent Final Fantasy CrossoverIt's an entire best magic set with four pre-built commander decks, a sound crossover that follows a similarly matched blueprint, limited to three secret lairs. Secret Lair is what Magic calls a series of timed versions that contain only a few specific cards with special art, and they are all sold directly by the Coast Wizard rather than random packaging.
In this case, the Turbo Gear Drop has six magic cards with new sound theme art and name, as well as a token card. These include some of the most popular formats of magicians, such as Swiftfoot Boots and Lighting Greaves – of course, Sonic's shoes deserve their own cards. It is also worth noting that a legendary vehicle called The Weatherlight is a tornado of Sonic's Biplane, and due to recent rule changes, you can actually become a commander if you prefer.
The drop is intended to supplement another card that focuses on the Sonic character itself, WOTC said. While we don't have those to disclose, an example is given in the store description of the turbo gear, which is the grafter's cutter, reconceived here as a knuckle glove, to shrink in knives. This idea goes hand in hand with other crossover drops, such as 2023 tomb Raiderthe reprint card is designed to blend well with the new legendary creatures, almost like a “Build your own Commander Deck” starter kit.
Turbo Gear Secret Lair Drop (and the other two) will be available for sale starting July 14 at 9 a.m. Official Secret Nest Websitefor non-fiber versions, it costs $29.99 and for foils, it costs $39.99. You'd also be better off getting there on time, as they can only be available in a limited number – if there are any signs of other recent crossovers, they may be sold out very quickly.
