Exclusive: Hear the latest track from Akira Yamaoka’s next horror project, Total Chaos

Akira Yamaoka, known for his decades-long contributions to the Silent Hill series, is lending his talents to the upcoming horror game from the creator of Turbo Overkill. total chaos Scheduled to launch later this year, GameSpot can exclusively reveal Yamaoka's involvement and his contribution to the game's theme song, “Catharsis.” Listen to the song’s world premiere below.
“Total Chaos” was born as a mod for “Doom 2”. Originally published 2018. The upcoming adaptation from Trigger Happy Interactive and Apogee Entertainment is a complete reimagining of the source material on a new engine. Yamaoka is working with the mod's original composer, Jason Dagenet, to bring the game's music to life. Any Silent Hill fan knows that the debut track definitely carries the composer's signature sound.
In the first-person horror game, players can expect to find touchstones of the survival horror genre such as resource management, crafting survival gear, and a horde of monsters to worry about their actions and attacks.
according to Game's Steam pageIn Castle Oasis, mysterious radio transmissions guide the protagonist through the ever-changing locations of Castle Oasis, as they begin to confront their own “fractured past.” It sounds like it's not just the music that's drawing Silent Hill fans.
A release date for Total Chaos has not yet been announced, but players will find out soon as the game is still expected to be released in 2025.
