Epic's plan to get Fortnite's plan to regain iOS hits obstacles in the UK

After successfully recovering Fortnite via iOS App Stores in the United States and Epic game store in the EUEpic Games' plan to follow both roads in the UK hit the regulatory end.

“The CMA also issued a vague announcement that it would allow developers to guide customers to make payment services outside of the app without having to cite restrictions, obstacles and spam fees introduced by Apple in Europe to mock the Digital Markets Act,” the Epic's statement continued. “Unless Apple and Google are completely unable to collect fees and use off-app payments to discriminate against the app, we can expect years of malicious compliance.”

Epic once again quotes one of the previous legal struggles, saying The latest US orders against Apple Set standards by removing all fees and barriers by deselecting all fees and barriers for applications that point customers to external payment services.

“Today, the desolate news in the UK is in stark contrast to the stronger pro-competitive actions in other regions,” the epic concluded. Although there is no doubt that the company will continue to put pressure on the CMA to introduce stronger antitrust laws against Apple and Google. Epic said the Epic Games store will also be launched in Brazil and Japan later this year, in addition to the victory in Europe and the United States.
