Elden Ring Switch 2 delayed to 2026 due to “performance tweaks”

The Switch 2 port of Elden Ring won't be released on time. From Software and Bandai Namco have confirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo consoles has been delayed to 2026.
In a statement, the developer said work on the development “continues wholeheartedly”. But a delay was needed to give the team time for “performance adjustments.”

“We apologize to players who have been looking forward to this game and thank you for your patience and support,” the developer said of the delay.
The Tarnished Edition includes the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack. Author George R.R. Martin worked on the backstory and lore of Elden Ring.
Eldon ring is The second best-selling game in the U.S. in 2022 and sell Nearly 30 million copies by the end of 2024 Across Xbox, PlayStation and PC. No sequel has been announced yet, but a standalone multiplayer spin-off, Elden Ring Nightreign, launched in May of this year. However, the news of Switch 2 has not been confirmed yet.
Assuming Elden Ring is released in 2026, it will join From Software's The Duskbloods in getting a Switch 2 version next year. This is a new action role-playing game exclusive to Switch 2, developed by From Software and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki.
