Elden Ring Nightreign is adopting unique storytelling – IGN First

Elden Ring is a game full of legends. Story details are everywhere, from traditional cutscenes, environmental details, conversations with NPCs and from Fromsoft Classic: even buried in project descriptions. But Elden Ring Nightreign is a very different Fromsoft game type: it is an online-driven cooperative PVE game with Roguelite Elements. This makes it a little difficult to convey the usual narrative-derived situation. So, how is the story of Night Walker conveyed? OK, let's talk about the commemoration. Read and/or watch the video below.
So first, let's break down what the nightclub story is. Who breaks this up better than Game Director Junya Ishizaki:
“Nightreign is essentially the basic environment and the world of Elden rings, but so to speak, it is carried out at different stages. So the concept is called “Nightlord”, which is an abstract phenomenon or disaster, in this alternative timeline, in this alternative timeline, it is a natural thing, its intention is that it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it
This is the setup that brings together eight of our different character classes, which are gathered in the world of Elden Ring. Nightreign's story is more about filling in the details of who these eight characters are, what their motivations are, what their past is, taking responsibility to defeat the nighttime people. To learn this, we have a memory.
The stops players can hold at the roundtable between Nightreign matches are diaries in the library where you can view the memories of the current character. Some of them are just diary entries that reveal some information about the character’s backstory. However, some of them are playable clips from the characters’ past moments. As you enter the playable anniversary, there will be a hazy dreamlike border around the screen, where you will be transported to the memory location.
After talking to the NPC in Memorial, you will get personal goals. These are different from characters and the differences between commemorations and commemorations. For example, for some people, such as the ironee, your personal goal might be to enter the competition, head to a specific marking position, and then beat the little shoes that only appear when the memorial target is active. Once done, you will get a project that can bring back flashbacks, return to NPC, and you will be able to move on to the next chapter of that character's story.
The goal itself differs between class and memorial. For example, Wylder does not have to fight his boss and may have to find specific items located in the cave, which is where you usually don't go because of the risk of being stuck there when the ring starts to close.
Then there is a guide, and his way of commemorating is completely different. He was removed from the roundtable and had to join various bosses in one-on-one battles similar to gladiators.
For the storytelling of Fromsoft games, it's a fun and very unique departure. I personally have only a small taste of the storylines of these individual characters, but what I have seen and played so far makes me eager to see more once I get the full game.
