While the bow has always been a powerful weapon for the Elden Ring, it is usually used as a support weapon – what you use to pull the aggro, or to weaken the enemy in the distance, then once it enters the range, or to cause that bird to fall into death and tilt over and over. But when you serve as Ironeye in Nightrenign, the bow is the heart and soul of the class, which leads to play style, which is very different from the other eight classes at Nightreign, which is probably the closest support class to what Nightreign offers. Check out Ironeye in the exclusive game video below.
The first thing I noticed when playing with Ironeye is that they are a very clumsy class. Sure, they can use whatever weapon they pick up, but the main reason you always have to bow and arrow is mainly because you can stay away from competition and don't have to worry about hit hit rate, because it doesn't take a lot to let you down, especially in the early stages. Fortunately, your starting bow is very solid. It takes decent damage and has powerful shooting as its skill, which allows you to attack from it Extremely good Distant, inflicting additional damage and causing some additional sedation damage.
It is also worth mentioning that the way the bow works has been redesigned in most of the night world. First, they fire faster, and you can move faster when locking enemies to shoot. Thankfully, you no longer need arrow supply. This does mean you will encounter arrows that come with any weapon, but it is absolutely a good thing to worry about how many arrows you have left in the boss battle or possibly running out of them. As for other neat new touches: there is a new animation when you shoot the arrow from the scroll; you can do cool acrobatic things like running walls, jumping down and releasing the style points of the arrow; you don't have to go into first person mode when aiming manually, and move faster when doing so. A strong attack can fire the spread of three arrows that can hit multiple enemies immediately. Yes, you can now backstab or perform visceral attacks on downed enemies with arrows. Basically, to make it a viable primary weapon in the Base Elden Ring, everything missing in the bow and arrow is the core of nighttime creation.
Ironeye's main skill is Marking, which is a very fast dagger attack that penetrates the enemy and leaves markings that will add extra damage to all sources. It has a short cooling, which means you can basically always put it on your boss, as long as you pay attention to when the arrival is active. This is also a great mobility tool as it allows you to get out of your way through your enemies.
Ironeye's ultimate lens is a single lens, which, as the name suggests, is a powerful lens. This is basically shooting on steroids. It takes a little bit to charge, but during the animation you are totally invincible and once you are shot, the shooting does a huge amount of damage, almost running through everything ahead, which makes it tend to take away a bunch of enemies at once.
What really makes the ironeye shine on the squad, though, is how they perform in terms of recovering allies from a safe distance. You'll find that the way Ally Revival works in Nightreign is that when someone walks down there is a smaller circle filling their character. By attacking your tendency allies, you can clear the circle bit by bit, and when they are all cleared, they will regain their lives. Most classes need to stand up close and take the huge risk of revitalizing allies, or they have to spend mana casting ranged spells, or even use their final skills, but Ironeye can do this safely from afar without using any resources. This is a very valuable thing, and it can be the difference between successful and failed running. The downside is that whenever an allies faint, another partition is added to the circle, and although Ironeye is good at reunification and allies only have one or two, they will work to restore an ally that needs to clear all three parts of the circle because unless they can only get the final recovery, they just don't have this damage.
While they may not be able to have the same damage as some other classes, the presence of the ironee is always felt in the squad. With their marking ability making it harder for everyone, increasing the amount of items found by everyone, cleaning up the ULTs on their mobs, and their unique ability to easily and safely revitalize people from a distance, the utility of Ironeye is almost unparalleled.
