EA CEO teases college basketball returns: “We have great college basketball skills”

The CEO of Electronic Arts is teasing the return of EA college basketball, with only one Cryptic EA Sports Tweet bringing the idea back to the first month of video game basketball fans.

In today's first-quarter revenue call, CEO Andrew Wilson was asked about the potential return of college basketball, which could be a response to the above tweet. June report and Above smart teasingCollege Basketball does plan to return from EA, although it will take us a while to see it – I didn't think of it until 2028.
Here is Wilson's vague but promising comprehensive response:
We can’t say much about that yet, but if I think of the opportunity, back to the place where college football, college sports is one of the most dynamic fans in the world. This will certainly drip into basketball. We see the fanatic momentum in college basketball continues to grow. Fans, athletes, colleges will devote themselves to these sports. It is this passion that makes it unique and makes the game unique.
But what follows is the need for a deep, real experience, which is highly anticipated: capturing actions in the fields or courts, representing energy, pagan, tradition, and celebrating the unique sights, sounds and stories of each school and competition. We feel like we are doing great in college football…we would love to do the same for basketball. All 350 plans, men's and women's teams, iconic traditions and competition, and of course March Madness.
So, for us, the widespread college sports is an exciting opportunity. We feel we did a great job and are still committed to doing so in the context of college football. We believe that with our team, technology and our commitment to college football, we will have the excellent ability to do the same for college basketball, and as we try to activate this opportunity, we will be able to share more.
Each report sportsEA Sports’ recommendations for college basketball games, which are recommended by university license companies, include all Level I men’s and women’s teams (730 in total). Starting in 2028, there will be six of these games, including six, that will have similar characteristics to college football such as Dynasty Mode, Team Builder, to Glory Road of Glory and Ultimate Team.
EA last produced a college basketball game in 2009, but compared to the college football series, the series was discontinued due to similarities in using college athletes and sales declines. But the success of college football seems to have sparked new interest in EA’s basketball…although it may face competition from 2K sports, if This NBA 2K official Twitter/X post has any instructions.
