Disney Lorcana has just shown a lot of new information to the future of trading card games, including the 9th box office – The Fable – which will be released on September 5, 2025, with the first ever iconic and epic cards and the arrival of a long-awaited silly movie.
Apart from the fable, more details were shared during the reign of Jafar in Lorcana before its debut on June 6, and a new collection starter set was revealed, with details on Disney Lorcana’s world champion. Oh, we can't forget the teasing of the Black Duck.
Disney Lorcana unveiled a lot of exciting information, and we're here to break it down to make sure you don't miss anything.
The allegory will add iconic and epic cards, stupid movies, and spinning cards

While we have more knowledge of allegorical knowledge, the teasing of the Disney Lorcana team has been waiting until the pre-release on August 29 and the wide release on September 5, just more difficult.
Stupid movie greeting cards will be one of the biggest additions to legendary Disney Lorcana, but the team is not ready to share which cards are available. However, they did share that Mickey and Minnie would be the first iconic cards.
The iconic card will be the rarest card of all Lorcana, as only two cards will appear in each set, while the exquisite cards of Mickey and Minnie on the Carousel will serve as iconic cards, and all players will chase their suits.
Apart from the iconic cards, there will be an Epic card, which is rarer than legendary, but not as difficult as charming and iconic. The cards will also be treated with special artwork and foil and provide players with more opportunities, such as the new Elsa (New Elsa (Snow Queen)).
Another big change in the allegory is that it will mark the first time that Lorcana has rotated certain cards and made them illegal in competitive matches. The top competitive game is called Core build and does not allow players to use any cards from the first four sets of Lorcana.
However, fans of old cards don't have to worry too much, as there are many ways to play your old cards, including in a new format built as called Infinity. Additionally, the Fable will introduce reprint cards from earlier sets – like Hunny Wizard – these will be fully used in competitive games.
“To keep competitive games thriving, spinning old cards to encourage new strategies and fresh deck design is an important part of the next chapter,” said Brand Manager and CO Designer Ryan Miller. Disney Lorcana TCG in Ravensburg. “But because we know those early cards are important to many fans’ deck building strategies, and we know not everyone has the cards they want, we’re reprinting some of the cards from the first plate legend. Includes some fan favorite enchantment versions! ”
If you're new to Lorcana and all these new sets sound tempting and fantastic, the team has announced a new way to jump into this trading card game with the Collection Starter Set.
The set includes four allegorical booster packs, a tinkering bell (giant fairy tale) “glitter foil” promotional card, a card portfolio with Mickey Mouse (the brave little tailor), and a collector's guide.

Jafar's reign offers Aladdin and Bambi cards as well as new collaborative adventures
As we mentioned earlier, Jafar's rule is the eighth set of Lorcana, which will be pre-release on May 30 and June 6.
Jafar's rule will continue in Lorcana's story, which plays Disney villain, whose team sums up what fans can expect.
“Jafar now has the crown of Hexwell, and with it, he destroyed Archazia's islands with evil will.” “The traps and hallucinations are a lot,” the official description reads. Jafar's rulea glitter like Jasmine – a stable strategist and Rapunzel – the high climber will need to unite, steal the crown and defeat the evil Vizel. ”
In addition to Jafar's reign, fans will be able to enter the Illumineers' pursuit: Palace Heist, a new “cooperation experience” that will allow four players to combine and replace Jafar and his minions.
As for the cards, fans will be able to try to get Bambi (Prince of the Forest), Flower (Shy Skunk), Thumper (Young Bunny), Jafar (Lorcana's High Sultan), Magic Carpet (Phantom Rug), Aladdin (Vigilant Guard), etc.
Future teasing includes whispers in the well and the dark duck

At the end of the speech, Disney revealed that the scene after the fable will be called the “well” and will arrive in the fourth quarter of 2025. The team didn’t share much, but a key piece of art revealed that Mickey, Ariel and Disney Gargoyles might be added to Lorcana. Oh, and there is a new type of shimmer abound.
Further afield, the team finally answered many fans’ calls to add Darkwing Duck to Lorcana as confirmed that he will join the race in 2026.
